Billy Reid Is Manager Of The Month
Clyde Manager Billy Reid has been named as the ‘Bell’s First Division Manager of the Month’ for August 2004.
Billy’s much admired team-building skills have produced a re-shaped Clyde side which has placed the Bully Wee at the top of the First Division throughout an undefeated August. It was a month in which four wins and a draw were recorded in the League, advancement in the SFL’s two knock-out competitions was achieved and two top French-born stars fleetingly added extra glamour to the Broadwood scene.
“I’m naturally delighted to win this award, especially after only one month of management on my own,” Billy Reid told the website. “It does give you a boost when your efforts are recognized and there’s no denying we’ve made a good start, but we’re not getting carried away.”
“I’m pleased with the efforts and commitment from my players, and ultimately it’s the players who win managers these awards. Any credit should really go to them for all their hard work, but they know it’s a long season, everyone can beat anyone else on their day and we must maintain the standards we have set.”
