Algerian Internationalist May Play For Clyde
Developments late this afternoon suggest that the name of French-born Algerian internationalist Karim Kerkar may well appear in tomorrow’s squad for the Ross County match.
Karim is probably best known in Britain for a three-month spell he spent at Maine Road when he was taken on loan by an injury-hit Manchehester City midway through September 2002. He featured twice on the bench for City against Liverpool and Southampton, but didn’t play for the Blues’ first-team.
His most recent football has been played in Qatar with the El Sailiya club, where the excellence of his displays continued to earn him inclusion in the Algerian international squad as recently as June 2004.
If Karim plays tomorrow against County he will almost certainly be the first Algerian internationalist ever to turn out for the Bully Wee – another first for Billy Reid!
