St.Johnstone 1 V 3 Clyde

Well taken goals by Stephen McConalogue, Andy Smith and Ian Harty capped a magnificent team performance in Perth today that increases our lead at the top of the First Division to 6 points.

Backed by an excellent away support, the players silenced their critics once again by controlling the match almost from start to finish.

McConalogue, a surprise starter, scored an early volley direct from a corner before Bryn Halliwell was forced to leave the field after picking up an injury when making a fine save. Smith then rolled in number two and pressure was well absorbed in the second half until a trademark Harty goal clinched the match.

A late Saints’ consolation goal didn’t dampen the buoyant celebrations at the end.
