Next Away Day: Inverness

Here are some worthwhile pointers for the Bully Wee faithful making the 174 mile trip to the Caledonian Stadium, Inverness this coming Tuesday for the vital match…

Mild and unsettled weather is forecast for the Highland capital on Tuesday.

Car: The ground is easy to find. From Perth head north on the A9 until you reach Inverness. At the Longman Roundabout (before the Kessick Bridge), take the third exit and carry on round until you come to the away car park, cost £1. Journey time around 3 hours 15 minutes.

Rail: Trains for Inverness leave Glasgow Queen Street every hour and a half. Cost £22 Apex return, £38.50 day return. Journey time around 3 hours 30 minutes. The stadium is about a mile from the station and there’s a free bus service from the Bus Station.

Only one bus is making the journey north but anyone is more than welcome to come along on the 50-seater coach, fully equipped with toilet and video facilities…

Glasgow Branch (Andy Peters – 07939 642 628): Millennium Hotel (George Square) 1.30pm, Broadwood Farm 2.00pm £12 adults, £8 reduced (children, OAPs, students and the unemployed). Second child free with every adult.

Main Stand East – Adult £11, Concession £6.

With the stadium being on the outskirts of Inverness, there’s not much nearby although the City Centre has more than its fair share of pubs and cafes. The Caley Social Club, Gellions, The Yard and Johnny Foxes all come recommended.
