Clyde V Dunfermline Preview

Jimmy Gibson and Mark McLaughlin are injury doubts ahead of the re-arranged Scottish Cup Fourth Round tie against Dunfermline at Broadwood tomorrow.

However, Kevin Fotheringham (pictured below on his debut in the abandoned match) has now completed his suspension and is available for selection again.

Alan Kernaghan said:-

“I think we’ve learned lessons from the hour against them last time, especially with set-pieces. Looking at their team on Saturday, it could be quite different on Tuesday from the first match so we’ll just have to take it as it comes.

“We’re looking to win the game and it would be great to do so but it’s not our main concern at the moment. I think the supporters understand the position we’re in and what it would mean for us to win the league. I admit a cup run would be nice but if not we’ve only got the most important competition to concentrate on.

“There was a lot of build up to the first game and the players were maybe a bit apprehensive going into it. I would hope that they won’t be affected this time. If we do get promoted that is going to be there all the time and they are going to have to learn to deal with it.

“The players shouldn’t be frightened of Dunfermline. We played pretty poorly against them the last time and were only 2-1 down at half-time. I’ll be drilling into them that there’s nothing to be afraid of.”
