Solid Start For Bully Wee United

Clyde’s newest Supporters’ Team, Bully Wee United, have a hectic schedule ahead of them this month following on from narrow defeats in their opening two matches. The response to the new side has been excellent, with 18 fans so far participating in either or both matches.

In their opening match against Ayr United, BWU lost 3-1 and on Saturday they were very unlucky to lose 4-3 to St.Mirren despite scoring three excellent goals.

Both performances were very encouraging against established sides and Gordon Nisbet said, “We’ve had a great response from the fans to the new team. Their work ethic and desire to represent Clyde in the best possible manner has been fantastic. We may have lost our opening two matches by the narrowest of margins but with the commitment being shown it won’t be long before we’re winning games. It’s a good day out; a game of football, a bit of hospitality and singing your heart out with the rest of the Gypsy Army later on at the first team match.”

Coming up in quick succession are games against St.Johnstone next Saturday (12pm, Broadwood Astro), Queen of the South (27th September, details TBC) and also a 7-a-side challenge match against Falkirk at Broadwood (20th September).

The team are still very keen to hear from anyone at all who would like to be involved in these matches, so if you are interested please contact BullyWeeUnited@clydefc.co.uk.

The ‘Soccer Sevens’ will also move back Broadwood every Wednesday, starting tomorrow. Kick-off 7.30pm, everyone welcome.
