St.Mirren 2 V 1 Clyde

Despite a spirited performance worthy of at least a point, Clyde’s makeshift team lost a late goal and the match to sicken the large travelling support.

A deflected Mark Gilhaney shot put the Bully Wee ahead but Alan Russell equalised soon after with a soft header and won the match with five minutes to go when he strolled through the Clyde defence.

Paul Doyle, Jimmy Gibson and Chris McGroarty all made a full debut.
