Midfielder Arrives

Former Rangers midfielder Jimmy Gibson today signed a 1 year contract with the Bully Wee, adding a much needed option to the squad before Saturday’s match against Brechin.

The 23-year-old spent his youth at Ibrox, making a handful of first-team appearances, but was released by Alex McLeish in the summer. Aberdeen and various English clubs were looking at him last month, but this morning a deal was concluded to make him a Clyde player.

Alan Kernaghan said:-

“I’m delighted that Jimmy has agreed to sign. He has a good pedigree but has maybe lost his way slightly in the last couple of years, as players often do at big clubs. We’re giving him an opportunity, and I’m fully confident he’ll do a great job for us.”

“He’s a front of middle player – comfortable on the ball with good vision, which is what we needed in the squad.”

The Manager also commented that he was confident some more signing news will be announced on Monday.
