Mcgroarty Deal Agreed
Alan Kernaghan today confirmed that an agreement has been reached to bring highly rated Dunfermline youngster Chris McGroarty to Broadwood on loan.
McGroarty, 22, is a former Scotland under-21 squad member and is most at home in the left wing-back position, although he can also play in midfield. He featured in nearly 30 games for The Pars last season and started their first two matches of this term against Celtic and Dundee, but AK was delighted to learn of his availability and said:-
“Chris trained with us this morning and the deal is done bar the paperwork. He was very well quoted as a youngster and has plenty of SPL experience under his belt. He also gives us a much needed option on the left.”
Chris was due to sign last week but a minor injury delayed the transfer slightly until this week.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s young Scottish midfielder Colin Marshall, currently on trial, has impressed the coaching staff and negotiations will begin this week with the Birmingham club.
