Victory For Supporters

A Clyde supporters’ team representing the “Soccer Sevens” made it two victories in one night when they defeated Bristol Rovers supporters on the Broadwood astroturf prior to the friendly match on Thursday.

Playing for Clyde were:- Gordon Nisbet, Steven Hunter, John Bowman, Graham Forrest, Andy Muir, Andy Peters, Brian Yule, David Stirling, Richard Duncan and Kevin Craig.

After going in 2-0 up at half-time, Clyde were put under pressure by Rovers and conceded a goal, but came back strongly to win 5-1. The final scoreline perhaps slightly flattered the Bully Wee team, but it was an excellent team performance against a more experienced Bristol side. A special mention must go to the visitors’ keeper, who pulled off a string of fine saves.

Clyde’s goals were scored by Forrest, Hunter, Peters, Duncan and Yule.

The match was played in great spirit and everyone involved enjoyed the occasion, including the defeated Rovers lads who have promised to adopt Clyde as their second team this season!
