Trialist Impresses In Friendly

An experimental Clyde side took on Bellshill Athletic at Broadwood last night in poor conditions, and eventually finished with a 4-2 victory.

First team squad members Mark McLaughlin, Alan Morrison, Stevie Convery, Stephen Cosgrove and Paul Shields were all fielded, along with several under-18s. Some trialists also featured and one, Elliot Smith (pictured), will be looked at again by Alan Kernaghan and Billy Reid. He’s a 19 year old defender currently with Hearts.

Convery and Shields scored two goals each for Clyde, and Manager Kernaghan said after the match:-

“It was a good exercise, and it was good to see Stevie Convery and Mark McLaughlin playing again.”
