Manager’S End Of Season Message
Yesterday brought us to the end of quite a successful season during which we have made big strides along the road to what will hopefully be a Championship winning season next year.
The credit for this is spread over a few different areas:-
1. The Board have backed me as far as they can.
2. The players have played consistently to a new level.
3. All my staff have worked together very hard.
4. Our youth policy is now bearing fruits, with not only Mark Gilhaney but 3 or 4 more players hopefully next season.
I would also like to thank you all for your loyal support. Home and away you have turned up and cheered us on. I would like to think you have enjoyed watching a winning team that tries to play attractive attacking football. My only worry is that there are not more people coming to watch us at home. We are doing as well as we have in the last 30 odd years, and yet we still cannot attract the 1500-2000 people we need to enable us to achieve more. I plead with you to try and bring a mate along with you next season. It would help us all enormously and I guarantee we will entertain them!!
I now have the majority of the team signed up and with the one or two we hope to add in the summer the squad is looking good. We will not be complacent and will be making new demands of the players once they return from their well earned rest.
I am straight off on holiday so I will miss some of the award events. Please accept my apologies and I hope you all have a good night.
I look forward to seeing you all again in August.
