St.Mirren 1 V 2 Clyde
Youngster Mark Gilhaney scored a fine clinching goal at Love Street today on his first team debut to grab the limelight in an eventful match.
A fairly dull 80 minutes was followed by an incredible last 10, starting with a superb headed goal by Alan Kernaghan from a Paul Kane free-kick. Substitute Gilhaney then coolly slotted home Clyde’s second goal, to the delight of the players and supporters.
St.Mirren then came racing back and missed a penalty before scoring their opener from the edge of the box. Bryn Halliwell then had the very last touch of the game when he brilliantly tipped a volley over the bar to secure an important win.
