Hinds Thanks Clyde

Leigh Hinds made his Aberdeen debut at Ibrox yesterday, but before that found time to speak to the website about his last minute move to Pittodrie. ‘Hindsy’ revealed he is grateful to Clyde for giving him a chance to prove himself after leaving Wimbledon:-

“I have enjoyed my time at the club but feel the time is now right to move on,” Leigh explained. “When I came to Clyde I had never played a first team game. Playing first team football is entirely different from reserve games in England, and it makes you sharper. I will always be grateful to Clyde for giving me a chance.”

Like most Clyde fans, Leigh felt his performances this season were worthy of a move to the SPL:-

“Having proved myself in the First Division, I wanted to make the step up to a higher level, and I can do that with a big club like Aberdeen. I know Clyde strikers of the past who moved on to Aberdeen, like Stevie Archibald, have gone on to do well.”

Hinds was quick to praise his managers past and present, especially Alan Kernaghan:-

“I enjoyed working with Alan as he helped improve my confidence. Allan Maitland was vital in taking the club forward but Alan Kernaghan seems to have taken Clyde to another level. Steve Paterson is another good manager and working with him will be another experience for me. He seems to have done a good job at Inverness and he will hopefully take that on to Aberdeen.”

Our thanks to Leigh for talking to us, and we wish him every success in the future.
