Former Bhoy Signs
Alan Kernaghan this morning signed free agent Paul Shields, 21, until the end of the season. Paul, recently released by Celtic, started his career brightly with Raith Rovers before moving to Parkhead in a £100k deal in March 2000.
Loan spells at Clydebank, Albion Rovers and Queen of the South followed for the striker, who comes in to try and bolster the squad following Leigh Hinds departure.
Kernaghan said – “It’s a good signing for us. Paul lost his way at Celtic and this gives him a chance to get back playing regular first team football. He has a good pedigree, otherwise Celtic wouldn’t have signed him.”
“He’s different to Leigh Hinds, but we feel he can score goals as good as, if not better than, Leigh did.”
