Next Away Day: Gretna
Clyde’s “Next Away Day” is a little different this week – a trip to Gretna for the Scottish Cup 3rd Round. Here is all the details you require in this special early edition of our away day guide…
WEATHER REPORT
The temperature is forecast to drop at the end of the week but, thankfully, reports at the moment suggest that it won’t drop below freezing at any point. If all goes to plan the weather should be perfect for a game of football, but more accurate reports will be available midweek.
HOW TO GET THERE
Car: From the North… Take the M74 South and take second exit for Gretna off M74 and head for Gretna Gateway Outlet Village. At roundabout, take the Annan Road directly aligned with the Crossways Public House. Go through one set of traffic lights and approx 200 yards on the left you will see a sign for the Gables Hotel and Gretna Sunday Market. Turn left and the ground is on your right hand side. From the South… Carlisle is only 9 miles from Gretna. Follow signs ‘The North’ on A7 and cross the River Eden. After about 2 miles at roundabout take 1st exit on to A74 (signposted Glasgow, Edinburgh). On A74 pass Todhills Services. Further 2 miles branch left onto B7076(signposted Gretna). Cross the border. After 1/2 mile, at Crossways Roundabout take 1st exit onto B721 (signposted Town Centre). There is a good sized car park at the ground.
Rail: Glasgow Central to Gretna Green, departs (and arrives)… 9.36am (11.18am), 9.53am (12.09pm), 11.03am (1.17pm), 12.03pm (2.12pm). Return journey… 5.55pm (7.49pm), 6.02pm (8.27pm), 7.04pm (9.27pm), 8.18pm (10.27pm). The ground is a 15 minute walk from the station. Day Return cost £10 adults, £5 children (5-15yrs).

Three buses are expecting a busy afternoon…
Castlemilk Branch (0141 569 3625 – Eric Steel): Murray Square 10.45am, Castlemilk Drive 11.00am, Clyde Club 11.10am, Muslin Street 11.20am. Arriving at Raydale Park Social Club. £7 flat rate. Second child goes free with every adult.
Glasgow Branch (0141 771 1385 – Rod MacKenzie): Millenium Hotel George Square 10.00am. Returning 6pm after 4th Round draw. £10 adults, £5 reduced.
Kirkintilloch and Cumbernauld Branch (0141 578 1311 – Jack Ferguson): Smiths Hotel 12.15pm, Broadwood Stadium 12.30pm. £10 adults, £7 reduced.
ADMISSION
Stand – Adult £10, Concession £5.
Terracing – Adult £8, Concession £4.
Raydale Park has the facility for 200 seating supporters and 800 standing uncovered (Clyde areas pictured). The entrance for away support is situated at the Loanwath Road entrance, and you will be directed by Stewards.

REFRESHMENTS
There is a Social Club, which holds around 250 at any time, adjoining the ground. Away support welcomed. Other hostelries include – Crossways Inn, Solway Lodge, Gables Hotel & The Old Toll.
MARRIAGES
“Over the Anvil” wedding ceremonies can be arranged. You must be (at least…) 16 and mad!!!
REPLAY ARRANGEMENTS
In the event of the match being postponed, or a replay being needed, this will take place on Tuesday 4th February.
