Fraser Returns To First 11

John Fraser will return to the starting line-up tomorrow against Ayr United in what looks likely to be Alan Kernaghan’s only change from the team that beat Queen of the South 2-1 a fortnight ago.

Andy Millen is now suspended for 2 games following his red card in that game, and Fraser will step into his position. Mark McLaughlin is, of course, still unavailable with his well documented viral infection. Kernaghan said:-

“Mark has had more tests, and we should get the results back later this week. No matter what happens, it will be at least 3 months before he’ll be back. He has missed a lot of training and we need to start again from scratch really. There’s no point in rushing him back.”

Willie Falconer is still recovering from his operation, and Andy McLay has been suffering with Flu and goes down as doubtful. Under-18s star Mark Gilhaney is added to the squad.

“We’ve proved in the last few weeks that we can get results but tomorrow is a bit different,” AK said. “It’s important we don’t get ahead of ourselves and keep our feet on the floor.”

“We saw Ayr last week against Falkirk. It was a poor game but there wasn’t really anything in the two teams until Ayr had a man sent off. Annand and Grady in attack is the strongest part of their team.”

“If we approach the match in the right way we should do ok.”
