Players Wanted

Clyde Supporters’ AFC is currently on the lookout for new players before their season starts. They play their games on a Sunday afternoon, with a training session during the week. Hamilton Palace is the team’s home park.

The club was founded in November 1981 by Clyde supporter Steven Morton, who got together a group of the ‘Shawfield Faithfull’ to form a supporters team to play against local amateur opposition. Encouraged by the interest and enthusiasm shown by his fellow supporters during a number of successful friendly matches against local opposition, Stevie applied to and was accepted for membership of the Supporters League for summer season 1982 (March to October). At the same time, a request was made to the Chairman of Clyde Football Club for permission to name the club Clyde FC Supporters AFC. This was duly granted, and a club was born.

Now, 20 years on, the club has adopted a policy that policy that requires 75% of the team to be Clyde supporters. If you are interested in getting involved or would like more details please log onto
