Friendly Arranged Against Premiership Opposition
Manager Alan Kernaghan has moved to arrange an away friendly against one of his former clubs – English Premiership side Middlesbrough. The intention is to take both the first team and the Under 18 team and have them play their respective opponents from Middlesbrough.
It is unlikely Boro will field a full first team, although some regulars may feature. The match for the Under 18s should provide the highly-rated Clyde youngsters with a valuable experience against one of England’s top sides.
With the games against Blackpool and Cardiff being called off, it was important for the club to arrange another challenging match.
The matches are due to take place on Thursday 25th July, with a 2pm kick off. They will not be played at the Riverside Stadium, but at Middlesbrough’s training complex, Rockliffe Park. Rockliffe is widely regarded as having the best training facilities available so it should be an interesting experience for Clyde players and officials.
