Kirkie Interest In Season Ticket Package
Clyde’s first venture into the world of local gala days took place today at Woodhead Park in Kirkintilloch and was rated a success by Fred McKenna, the Target 2K Task Group leader behind the idea.
” We spoke to hundreds of people about Clyde over the five hours we were there today,” said Fred, “and over seventy people expressed an interest in the Clyde Season Ticket package and took away a form. Thus we succeded in two areas – we raised the Club’s profile in the Kirkie area and hopefully brought in some new supporters.”
This is the first of two galas Clyde are trialing and their value to Clyde will be monitored. “It’s not cheap to hire a marquee for a day,” stressed Fred, “and the all the season ticket forms issued today were especially numbered so that we can compare additional income over marquee hire costs. If it all costs in we hope to do more next year and we intend working closely with John Bean and the Clyde youth teams to put on additional fund-raisers such as beat the goalie.”
Finance isn’t the only consideration if gala day involvement is to be consolidated and extended. “I’m sure this can go from strength to strength but next year we will need more Clyde supporters to help man the marquees,” concluded Fred.
