PREVIEW: Clyde v Montrose

Fri, 19th Aug 2011 8:42pm

Jim Duffy spoke to as the squad prepared for this Saturday’s match against Montrose...

"Training has had a good energy and tempo about it as everyone is lively after some positive performances and that's important."

When questioned about expectations rising after two positive displays against the promotion favourites Peterhead and Alloa, along with the prospect of a home game, Jim had some forthright views...

"Higher expectations come from other people, not from us. We can't concern ourselves with what others think and it would be totally disrespectful to expect one team to be an easier proposition than any other. We are at the same level as Montrose and they are coming to Broadwood after an excellent 3-0 win last week. As far as our thinking goes it will be just as tough a game as the ones we have faced. I can only concern myself in how we approach and how we perform the in the game. What others believe is up to them."

Jim made no secret of the reason for the success to date…

"People ask you about individuals and it is good to highlight those goals scored by John Sweeney in the last two games, but excellent strikes are a rare occurrence. Our platform is our work ethic and teamwork and we need to continue that in every week of the season.

"Team wise for this week, Pat Scullion is likely to continue to miss out due to a knee injury and Paul McMullan also missed training at the start of the week due to illness but we will give him every chance to make it."
