Alan Takes Trio of Awards

Sun, 2nd May 2010 9:46am

There were mixed emotions for Clyde defender Alan Lithgow yesterday, as he was personally acclaimed following the club's last match before moving onto the Third Division.

The former Hearts man collected three end of season awards for his performances throughout the campaign. In total, he played in 36 matches, scoring 6 times and also registering 2 assists.

He was first presented with the Castlemilk Branch Player of the Year trophy by Bully Wee stalwart Jimmy Thyne (pictured on homepage). On behalf of the branch, Eric Lennon commented, "In what has been a difficult time on the pitch, one man has consistently stood out with his performances."

Alan was then handed the www.clydefc.co.uk trophy by Gordon Thomson (right), after he came out on top of the man of the match points standings. Voted for by website members throughout the season, he was a clear winner ahead of second place Callum Reidford and third place Willie Sawyers.

To complete a hat-trick of awards, Alan was also named the Executive Club's Player of the Year.

He didn't quite manage a clean sweep though, as Callum Reidford had previously collected the Clyde Crew trophy.
