SUMMARY

The first half was a poor display, with nothing really between the sides although Arthurlie probably created the better chances. The half ended on a sour note for Clyde as Pat Keogh gained a nasty looking cut near his eye after an accidental collision of heads.

Clyde made several changes at half-time and, for whatever reason, the style of the game seemed to swing to a more open nature. A low David Dunn cross from the left was turned into the net by a sliding Arthurlie defender for 1-0 Clyde. The visitors equalised a minute later when Andy Millen appeared to let a high ball go over his head in the box. Clyde's second goal soon after was a cracking strike by Stephen McConalogue from the edge of the box, hitting the roof of the net via the stantion. He added a third by taking the ball from a dithering defender, running through, rounding the keeper and walking the ball into the net. Trialist Martin then needlessly scythed down a visiting forward in the box and the stonewall penalty was converted to make the score 3-2. The lively Cosgrove was rewarded for his efforts when his weak long range shot bobbled over the top of the keeper and into the net. Arthurlie replied again near the end with a stunning shot into the top corner from 25 yards which left Morrison helpless, but they couldn't snatch a draw.

Overall, a mixed bag for Clyde. Trialists... Gary Martin had a few nice moves but struggled overall. Mousa Dagnogo had some flashes of brilliance but missed a few chances. Worth another look though. Steven Cosgrove looked good (although he didn't get much of a chance again) but Stephen McConalogue, despite scoring twice, probably didn't do enough to force himself into the team. For everyone else it was really just a fitness exercise.

KERNAGHAN'S REACTION

"It was a good run-out considering we didn't have a game on Saturday, which was the main aim of the match. Although we could have performed a bit better. I'm disappointed that Paddy got injured obviously - he's away to the hospital so we will just have to wait and see how he is."
