Barry Cuddihy Awarded Testimonial Year
We are delighted to announce that Barry Cuddihy has been awarded a testimonial year to celebrate his 10 years of service with The Bully Wee.
Organised by the independent Barry Cuddihy Testimonial Committee, a series of events will be held throughout the next year to celebrate Barry’s time with the club and recognise his outstanding contribution to Clyde.
Barry signed for Clyde in July 2017 and has been an integral part of the club ever since. He currently sits on 299 appearances and, if selected, will make his 300th appearance this week, becoming just the 22nd player in Clyde’s 149-year history to reach the milestone.
He has scored 13 goals to date and was part of the promotion-winning side of 2018-19, a season in which he was also named the club’s Player of the Year.
Barry is only the third Clyde player in history to be awarded a testimonial season, following in the footsteps of Brian Ahern and Keith Knox.
David Jack, Chairman of the Testimonial Committee, commented:
“Barry has been a fantastic servant to Clyde and reaching 300 appearances is a tremendous achievement. To have spent 10 years at one club at this level is becoming increasingly rare, and it says a lot about Barry, both as a player and as a person.
“Throughout his time at Clyde, Barry has always shown incredible commitment. He has experienced plenty of highs and lows, but his attitude and dedication have never wavered. He has built a fantastic relationship with the supporters and is someone who genuinely understands what playing for Clyde means.
“Being awarded a testimonial is a fantastic recognition of that service, and we’re delighted to be able to celebrate Barry’s contribution properly over the next year.
“The committee is working hard behind the scenes to put together a series of events, and we’ll release details as soon as they are confirmed. We hope the Clyde support will get behind them, come along, and help us give Barry the celebration he deserves.”
The Barry Cuddihy Testimonial Committee is composed of David Jack (Chair), Robert Cuddihy, Sean Hart, Fin McKay, Dean McKirdy, David Meldrum and Stevie Morton.
