Thanks For Your Support
As the curtain falls on another season, we want to take a moment to thank every single supporter who backed Clyde throughout all 52 games of this campaign.
Last night’s heartbreaking playoff final defeat will hurt for some time. To come so close and fall narrowly short is incredibly difficult to accept. More than anything, we’re disappointed we couldn’t deliver the promotion that your unwavering support deserved.
From the very first match of the season, when we matched Motherwell stride for stride, to the final whistle at Broadwood last night, your backing never faltered. During the playoffs in particular, you lifted the team every step of the way, and last night’s support was nothing short of extraordinary. Over 950 Clyde fans packed into Broadwood – our biggest away following in a generation – creating an atmosphere that everyone connected with the club will remember for years to come.
While we are still striving for our permanent home, your support has made Hamilton a consistent and welcoming base for the team, helping us achieve the second-highest average home attendance in the league. And, as always, you travelled in numbers everywhere the team went. From the long, seemingly annual December trip to Elgin, to the midweek journey to Stranraer in monsoon-like conditions and road closures, your commitment never wavered. Closer to home, there were memorable occasions too – Santa Saturday at Meadowbank, selling out our entire allocation at K-Park, and witnessing our biggest away victory in almost 70 years at Annan.
While the season may ultimately have fallen short of its promotion target, it has still been a campaign that brought pride and positivity back to the club after some difficult recent years on the pitch. The players left absolutely everything out on the park last night, just as they have done throughout this entire season, and we couldn’t ask for any more effort and determination from them. There is a genuine feel-good factor around Clyde once again, and the connection between the supporters and the players has grown stronger with every passing week. Let’s work together on taking this to even further levels next season.
Thank you for every mile travelled, every ticket bought, every song sung and every ounce of support you gave this team from the first whistle to the very end.
We’ll never take it for granted.
The players, staff and volunteers will be having an end of season day out at the Golf Bar on West George Street from 12pm today, and all supporters are welcome to join us.
Enjoy the summer, and we can’t wait to see you all again next season.
