Jim Fleeting

All at the club were saddened to learn of the passing of former player Jim Fleeting this week.

Jim had two spells with Clyde, first in August 1983 for three months before moving on to Irvine Meadow, before signing for a second time in July 1985. Jim stayed with Clyde for the whole season, and was an unused substitute in Clyde’s final competitive fixture at Shawfield.

Overall, between his two spells with the club, he made 18 first-team starts, with another 6 appearances coming off the bench. A classy defender, Jim only scored one goal for The Bully Wee, when he grabbed Clyde’s third goal in a 4-3 defeat at Shawfield against East Fife.

Jim then went on to spend over 25 years with the SFA, helping to develop the next generation of coaches.

Our thoughts and condolences are extended to Jim’s family and friends at this sad time.
