Chairman’s New Year Message

Customarily this is a time to look back at the year which is almost behind us, and more importantly refocus on our twin objectives for 2026.

On the Field

While the 2024/25 season ended in May with a 7th placed finish in League Two, our clear aim ahead of the current campaign was, and remains, promotion to League One either directly or through the play-offs, in this Darren Young’s first full season at the helm.

At the end of the second quarter we had accumulated fourteen points, one more than the first quarter, with just one defeat in that run. The team has shown a good level of consistency this season but will look to convert far more of the draws into wins to ensure we maintain that push for promotion.

One of the key features of our recent form has been the tremendous support and backing our fans have given, especially away from home. Having the largest travelling support in the division is a massive boost for the players and we urge you all to play an even bigger part in the vital second half of the season.

Off the Field

The Relocation Sub Committee, which is made up of representatives from both our Community Foundation and Football Club, continues to work is tirelessly in the background to locate and secure a suitable site in Glasgow, and we are very hopeful of achieving a breakthrough with this project in the New Year. As soon as we have something substantial to report, then we will update all owners.

Aside from these two key objectives, we are delighted to have appointed a Chief Executive Officer, David Alexander, who moved into post on 4th November and is already actively engaged in improving all areas of the club’s operations. This appointment, along with the recent board appointee Sean Hart, and before him David Hunter, will ensure that the club is in capable hands as we continue to re-align our Board demographic, enhancing our capability to deliver a brighter future for the club.

The current club structure relies massively on the part played by our volunteers, on matchdays and beyond, and this cannot be understated. Without them, the club would simply not exist. Remarkably, we now have a group whose service ranges from over forty years to just four months, such is the desire to support our club.

In closing I’d like to recognise the massive support given to me by your Board of Directors. Always unsung, but always with the highest level of commitment to our great club, and acutely aware of just how much The Bully Wee means to so many. We are as passionate as you, our fellow supporters, and are committed to making 2026 a memorable year for the club.

We wish you and yours a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year.
