Winter Foodbank Collection
The Clyde FC Community Foundation will be hosting a collection for the Hamilton District Foodbank before Saturday’s game against Annan Athletic.
Supporters are invited to donate non-perishable and tinned foods, which will benefit those in need in the local area.
Donations can be dropped off outside the Main Door on Saturday from 12.30pm onwards.
Alan White, Charity Development Manager at the Clyde Foundation commented:
“Over the past couple of years, we have all become familiar with the phrase “cost of living crisis” and seen the impact of this across communities the length and breadth of the country, with almost 1 in 10 people in Scotland now regarded as being in “deep poverty” by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Beyond that number, 1 in 4 children in Scotland are living in poverty and almost three quarter of those children are in a household where at least one family member works showing the rise of in-work poverty.
“Like so many organisations in the third and charity sectors, the Clyde FC Community Foundation has identified a number of challenges faced by individuals in poverty over the last few years and we have attempted, in our own small way, to try to address the issues facing those living in poverty in the West of Scotland in 2025.
“As such, we are working with Hamilton District Foodbank to organise a collection before our match on Saturday. The Clyde support has proven incredibly generous to recent charity collections at Hamilton Community Stadium and we know that times are tight but if you are able to support this food donation drive then it would be another step in The Bully Wee helping to support communities impacted by poverty when that support is so desperately needed.”
