David Alexander Appointed CEO
Clyde FC is delighted to announce the appointment of David Alexander as the Club’s new Chief Executive Officer.
This appointment follows a thorough and highly competitive recruitment process, overseen by the Board of Directors. The process was carefully structured to identify the individual best equipped to strengthen the Club and drive continuous improvement.
From a strong field of applicants, David stood out as the outstanding choice. He impressed the panel with his vision for the future of Clyde FC, his proven leadership skills, and his deep understanding of how to build success.
David, a familiar face to many through his previous roles as a volunteer, brings with him a wealth of experience in lower-league football. During his tenure as CEO of Stenhousemuir, both the men’s and women’s first teams secured their first league titles in the club’s history.
More recently, he has also worked with Dumbarton FC in an advisory role. With a strong track record of delivering results through innovation, strategic planning, and community engagement, his appointment reflects the Club’s determination to strengthen its operations, deepen connections with supporters, and drive long-term success.
Chairman John Taylor commented:
“We are thrilled to welcome David back to the club. The recruitment process was rigorous, and I thank those directors who led it with transparency. David emerged as an outstanding candidate who shares our ambitions for the Club. Importantly, the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer was identified as a key strategic goal within our wider strategy for growth and development. David’s leadership and vision will be vital as we continue to strengthen our operations and build a successful future for Clyde.”
David Alexander added:
“It’s a privilege to be returning to Clyde Football Club in this role. Like many supporters, I’ve seen both the challenges and the potential that exist here, and I’m excited to help the club take the next steps on and off the pitch.
My immediate focus will be on understanding every area of the club and setting the right foundations for future success – on and off the pitch. I’ve seen first-hand what’s possible when a club aligns behind a clear plan and shared ambition, and I’m looking forward to working with the board, staff, players, and supporters to make that happen here.”
The Club warmly welcomes David into the role and looks forward to this new era under his leadership.
