Guide Dogs Scotland Puppy Appeal

Clyde FC is delighted to be welcoming staff and volunteers from Guide Dogs Scotland to our upcoming home match with Dumbarton on Saturday, as the charity raises vital funds for their Puppy Appeal.

They will be collecting donations from supporters prior to the match outside the stadium, with a couple of guide dogs also accompanying the staff and volunteers!

Guide Dogs Scotland, which has a base locally in Hamilton, is a charity that is almost entirely dependent on donations from the public to provide its life-changing services for people with sight loss.

Every year around 1,350 puppies begin their journey to become a guide dog, each costing £77,000 to breed, raise and train.

Sandi Johnson, Community Fundraising Manager at Guide Dogs, said:

“We are extremely grateful to Clyde FC for giving our Hamilton Fundraising Group this opportunity to raise awareness and funds as part of our Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal.

“We couldn’t do what we do, enabling people with sight loss to live independently, without the fantastic support we receive. We are looking forward to meeting fans from both sides on Saturday and telling them know the part they can play in changing lives.”

Clyde Director Sean Hart added:

“We’re delighted to welcome Guide Dogs Scotland to the game on Saturday. They do outstanding work supporting those in need, and it’s a cause that deserves everyone’s full support. We’d encourage all supporters to give as generously as they can to the collection and help them continue the fantastic work they do in our communities.”
