Clyde 2-1 Kilmarnock B

Clyde booked their place in the knockout stages of the KDM Evolution Trophy and extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a victory over Kilmarnock B this evening,

Darren Young made five changes to his side, including a start at right-back for Kyle Fleming.

After a slow start to the game where both sides struggled to find their footing, The Bully Wee broke the deadlock on the 27th minute. After a fine passing move out from a Jay Hogarth goal kick, Scott Williamson found himself on the end of a cross from Kyle Fleming and sent a looping header past Eddie Beach into the top corner.

Clyde quickly doubled their advantage three minutes later. Robbie Leitch slid in to play a square ball to Mouhamed Niang, who unleashed a fine curling strike from outside the box leaving Beach flat footed as it nestled into the corner of the net.

Hogarth was then called into action, making a good stop one-on-one from Samuel Duruh to keep Clyde’s two goal lead going into the interval.

Williamson had a chance just after the start of the second half when he cottoned onto Hogarth’s punt but his strike fell just past the post with Beach beaten.

The visitors pulled one back in the 74th minute after Clyde failed to clear danger in the box, and Euan Bowie poked home from close range to give Killie a lifeline.

Clyde however hung on in the closing stages to secure all three points and kept the unbeaten run going.
