PREVIEW: Elgin City v Clyde

Clyde journey to Moray tomorrow to face Elgin City in William Hill Scottish League Two.

The Bully Wee will be hoping to achieve back-to-back away victories for the first time since December 2021 and increase the distance on the relegation playoff spot to seven points.

Darren Lyon edges closer to a return to action for Clyde, but fellow long term absentees Brian Kinnear and Lee Connelly still await surgery.

Despite only winning two of their last five games, which has seen the gap on the bottom close to four points, Elgin are six games without a win.

Allan Hale’s men are on their worst league form since a losing sequence by the same number in April 2023 and with their position in the promotion playoffs secure only by goal difference, defeat could see them slip out the top four.

However, the Black and Whites are unbeaten in the league against The Bully Wee this season, winning the last match 4-2 in Moray courtesy of a hat-trick from Dylan Gavin and goal from Dayshonne Golding, despite Martin Rennie and Robbie Leitch pulling goals back for the visitors.

The last and first meetings between the sides ended in draws at New Douglas Park, as did the Scottish Cup second round tie, only for Elgin to win on penalties.

Clyde do have the upper hand on head-to-head statistics having won 21 of the encounters with 10 draws and 17 defeats.
