PREVIEW: Clyde v East Fife
Clyde return to New Douglas Park tomorrow for the visit of league leaders East Fife as the William Hill League Two campaign enters the final quarter.
Consecutive wins for The Bully Wee for the first time since December could cut the gap on the promotion play-offs to seven points and allow them to move a step closer to league safety.
Meanwhile, Dick Campbell’s men can go four points clear in top-spot providing second place Peterhead lose.
Darren Young’s hosts have only lost three home matches this season and have won their last two matches in Hamilton against the Methil side. Since May 2014, the Fifers have struggled in away matches against Clyde with only two league wins recorded in November 2023 and March 2021.
The Bayview club have ran out comfortable winners in their two home games against The Bully Wee this season. Jess Norey, Alan Trouten and Adam Laaref all struck the net in a 3-0 victory in January while they cruised to a 5-1 win last August.
However, the home side held the bragging rights in the last match in South Lanarkshire with a brace from Jordan Allan and goal from Liam Scullion, despite Scott Shepherd’s injury time consolation.
Clyde have won 41, drawn 34 and lost 38 in the head-to-head as they seek a third straight home win over East Fife.
