PREVIEW: Clyde v Bonnyrigg Rose

Clyde welcome Bonnyrigg Rose to New Douglas Park tomorrow in a must-win clash for both teams.

The eighth place Bully Wee can increase the distance on the relegation playoff to seven points with victory while a third straight defeat could leave them a point above Forfar at the bottom of the table.

Whereas a first win in eight games for Bonnyrigg by two or more goals will allow them to leapfrog the hosts, but lose and they could drop into tenth spot if the Loons win at Stranraer.

It will be the first away match for newly-installed Rose manager Jonny Stewart on Saturday after he opened his tenure with a draw to Stirling Albion last week.

The New Dundas Park side have only gained two away wins this season, the last of which was last September against Stranraer.

However, away to Clyde, the visitors have only lost once, a 3-2 defeat last January while the side’s last meeting in Hamilton resulted in a 2-2 draw in November.

As for the club’s most recent match last month in Midlothian, the Rose sealed the victory in the first half courtesy of Cameron Ross’ eighth minute opener and Neil Martynuik’s penalty, despite a late strike by Martin Rennie.

Clyde have won three and lost five of their nine matches against the Rose with one draw as they look to ease their relegation fears with seven games to go.
