PREVIEW: Clyde v Edinburgh City

Clyde welcome Edinburgh City to New Douglas Park tomorrow evening, where a win for the seventh place Bully Wee would see them close the gap on the visitors to three points and make it five straight home wins for the first time since April 2018. Meanwhile victory for the Citizens could see them go seven clear in fourth and a point behind third spot.

Robbie Leitch misses out after sustaining his shoulder injury last weekend, and he joins Lee Connelly, Brian Kinnear, Darren Lyon, Ross Lyon and Paul McKay on the sidelines. Kyle Connell’s knee injury however is not as bad as first feared, and he is expected to be in the squad alongside Martin Rennie.

Since their last meeting with the capital club in November, The Bully Wee have only lost three games and will aim to extend their unbeaten record on home soil to nine matches.

Michael McIndoe’s Edinburgh arrive in Hamilton after suffering back-to-back league games for the first time since August. The club followed up their last victory over Clyde by going six games unbeaten to climb from sixth into the top four. However, they have since only won one of their last four and will be looking to avoid a third straight league defeat for the first time this season.

The most recent encounter between the sides ended in a narrow victory for the visitors at Meadowbank. Former Bully Wee forward Connor Young’s strike proved to be the difference in Darren Young’s first away league match in charge. In contrast, the first league meeting of the season resulted in a share of the spoils as Jordan Allan’s 90th minute penalty cancelled out Young’s opener.

Clyde hold the bragging rights when it comes to head-to-head statistics, winning 12 out of 22 matches played, five of which were at home.
