Elgin City 4-2 Clyde
The Bully Wee paid the price for a poor first half in Elgin this evening.
Dom Docherty came in for the suspended Ray Grant, with Darren Young only being able to name three substitutes on the bench due to an ever increasing injury list.
Robbie Leitch hit the post in the opening stages before the hosts opened the scoring with 11 minutes gone. A quick move up the park saw Dayshonne Golding play in Dylan Gavin who slotted beyond Robbie Hemfrey.
Clyde then lost Paul McKay to injury, and Elgin doubled their advantage just after the half-hour mark when Golding powered through the defence before finishing with aplomb past Hemfrey.
Gavin found the back of the net again four minutes later after Elgin won back possession in midfield and the striker was on the end of a through ball.
The Bully Wee changed shape and performed better in the second half, pulling one back seven minutes after the restart when Martin Rennie flicked a corner from Liam Scullion into the roof of the net from the near post.
It was game on in the 63rd minute when Rennie’s floated cross found Leitch, and he curled a fine effort beyond Aidan Glavin into the top corner.
Clyde pushed for an equaliser but the Black-and-Whites sealed the point six minutes from time as Gavin got his hat-trick, with his driven free-kick on the edge of the box going in via the post.
