Darren Young Appointed Clyde Manager
The club is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Young as the new manager of Clyde FC, with immediate effect.
Young enjoyed a long playing career, most notably with Aberdeen and Dunfermline Athletic, before moving into management with Albion Rovers in 2014. He led the Rovers to the League 2 title in his first season as a manager. The 45-year-old spent two more years at Cliftonhill, before a four-year stint in the dugout at East Fife.
Darren’s most recent role came at Stirling Albion, where he was appointed in December 2021. He won his second League 2 title as a manager in the 2022-23 season, before leaving Forthbank in the summer.
Neil Scally will continue in his role as Assistant Manager.
We can also confirm that Mark Kerr will be leaving his position as First Team Coach. The club extends its thanks to Mark for his hard work and dedication, which played a significant part in maintaining our League 2 status, and wish him the very best for the future.
Allan Maitland commented on the appointment:-
“I’m very excited to welcome Darren to the club. He has a proven track record and expertise in this league, with two titles to his name already despite still being a relatively young manager.
“There is still a long way to go in the season and I am very confident in Darren’s abilities to turn things around for the club on the park as we aim to climb the table.”
