Civil Service Strollers 2-5 Clyde

The Bully Wee concluded their pre-season schedule with a victory over Lowland League side Civil Service Strollers in Edinburgh this afternoon.

The hosts took the lead midway through the first half when Jay Kennedy made a save but Harry Girdwood was on hand to tuck home the rebound.

Clyde equalised two minutes after the interval direct from a corner. Liam Scullion took the set piece which looped high and evaded the ‘keeper’s grasp at the back post.

Paul McKay then headed Clyde into the lead when he connected with Barry Cuddihy’s corner, before Martin Rennie doubled the advantage after taking a good touch from Scullion’s cross and slotting beyond the ‘keeper.

McKay got his second of the afternoon from another corner, this time heading Scullion’s ball home at the back post. Logan Dunachie, playing as a centre forward, then added a fifth, showing good control to beat a defender then curled a shot into the bottom corner with his left foot from outside the box.

The Strollers pulled one back with the last kick of the game, when a Trialist got on the end of a free-kick.
