The Spartans 1-1 Clyde

Jordan Allan scored on his first game back for The Bully Wee but it only earned a point against The Spartans this afternoon.

Allan was one of four changes Ian McCall made to his side, with Lee Hamilton, Barry Cuddihy and Robbie Leitch also returning.

Allan had a chance to open the scoring after just eight seconds when Liam Scullion’s through ball put him one-on-one with Blair Carswell, but the ‘keeper made a good block.

He wasn’t to be denied for long though and got his goal in the fourth minute, after Ross Lyon picked him out and he slotted beyond the advancing Carswell.

The hosts drew level midway through the half after a good passing move ended with Rhys Armstrong rifling a shot beyond Jack Leighfield.

Lyon then had an opportunity to notch his first goal for Clyde just before half-time after playing a one-two into the box with Robbie Leitch, but his shot was blocked.

Clyde continued on the attack after the interview and Scullion was unlucky to see his effort from distance clip the crossbar.

Martin Rennie saw his shot held by Carswell, and at the other end Blair Henderson sent a header narrowly wide, as both sides had to settle for a point.
