NEW SIGNINGS: Craig Howie & Robbie Leitch
The club is pleased to announce the signings of Craig Howie and Robbie Leitch, subject to international clearance and SFA approval respectively.
Craig returns to The Bully Wee for his second spell after initially joining the club in the summer of 2019 from East Kilbride. The 27-year-old centre-half made 50 appearances over the COVID shortened seasons, scoring two goals and won the club’s Goal of the Season award for 2020-21 for his volley against Peterhead. He joined Alloa Athletic in 2021 and has recently returned to Scotland after a year in Australia, playing for East Perth FC.
Attacking midfielder Leitch, 25, joins Clyde after recently leaving Edinburgh City. He began his career in the academies of Burnley and St Mirren before joining Falkirk in 2019. He moved to Cove Rangers two years later and then signed for Edinburgh in the summer.
Craig has signed until the end of the current season, whilst Robbie’s contract runs until May 2025.
Ian McCall commented after the duo put pen to paper:-
“I’m delighted to add both Craig and Robbie to our squad. Craig has pace and good physical attributes and is another proven player at League 1 level. He’s been at the club before and was well liked in his last spell, and I’m sure he’ll prove popular with the fans again.
“Robbie also has plenty of experience and is capable of playing in League 1. He’s a creative player and can get around the pitch, and he will chip in with goals and assists too.”
