Bonnyrigg Rose 3-2 Clyde

Defensive frailties were exposed again as The Bully Wee let a half-time lead slip at New Dundas Park this afternoon.

Brian McLean made four changes to his side, with Peter Grant, Jon Craig, Ross Forbes and Ji Stevenson all returning to the starting lineup.

Clyde made a poor start and were a goal down inside the opening minutes when a low cross down the Bonnyrigg right was swept home by Taylor Sutherland.

The Bully Wee drew level in tenth minute when Connor Young’s ball into the box found Martin Rennie and he diverted it into the net from close range.

Rennie then rose highest to meet a cross in the middle of the box which had the ‘keeper beaten but the ball bounced off the inside of the post and across the face of goal before being cleared.

Alex King then tried his luck shortly after with a powerful strike from a wide angle but Paddy Martin made a fine save to deny him.

Clyde took the lead a minute before the interval when Rennie’s header again came off the post, but this time in bounced into the path of Ji Stevenson, who rifled home.

The lead however was short lived as the hosts made it all square again three minutes after the restart in a similar fashion to the opener, after Liam Buchanan converted a cross from close range.

Bonnyrigg completed the comeback 12 minutes from time when Sutherland ran through on goal and rounded Leighfield before slotting into the empty net.
