Barry Joins 200 Club
Barry Cuddihy spoke to the official website following his 200th appearance for the club during Saturday’s match against Falkirk. The midfielder was presented with a commemorative shirt before the game with his family and teammates watching on:-
“On a personal note it’s brilliant to have made my 200th appearance for Clyde. It’s been a big part of my life, I’ve spent all of my twenties so far at the club and it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster with a lot of highs and lows and hopefully there are more positives still to come. It was a nice surprise before the game; I knew I was around about the 200 mark but didn’t realise it was going to be today so I wasn’t expecting my mum and dad to appear in the dressing room! But it’s a great memory to have and I’ve loved being part of the club.”
The 26-year-old was handed the captain’s armband for the day and commented on the performance, as well as looking ahead to the run-in:-
“It was a good hard fought draw and another point gained against a strong team at the top end of the league so all in all it was a happy Saturday afternoon! I thought we showed good character to bounce back after losing heavily to Airdrie and maybe we could have even nicked all three points with a few chances towards the end. We just need to try and keep this momentum going into next week and aim to increase the gap between ourselves and Peterhead.”
Manager Jim Duffy was full of praise for Barry:-
“I’m absolutely delighted for Barry, it’s a fantastic achievement and I thought he was outstanding today and put in a great shift. Players like him are few and far between and what they give to clubs like Clyde should never be underestimated. Everyone at the club would like to congratulate him on his 200th appearance.”
