Employment Tribunal Ruling

Clyde FC has now received the judgement of the Employment Tribunal pursued against the club and our charitable foundation by Lauren Rabbitte, a former volunteer of our charity. The ruling is entirely in our favour.

Media reports previously recounted the claims made by Miss Rabbitte, without giving Clyde Football Club the courtesy of an opportunity to respond. It was only in response to the publication of those allegations that we issued a public statement of our position. That position has now been vindicated by a ruling which unequivocally dismissed Miss Rabbitte’s case.

Although we welcome the outcome, the fact is that the charity is now counting the cost of having to defend against what we always believed to be a baseless and opportunistic case. Regrettably, the ruling based on facts is likely to prove less newsworthy than the allegations were, but we hope that our supporters and the wider football community will be reassured by our conduct throughout.
