Clyde United Are Champions!
Congratulations to our Clyde United team who were crowned Champions of the Scottish Mental Health and Wellbeing Championship League this week. The team are part of the Clyde FC Community Foundation’s men’s health and wellbeing activities and train at Broadwood every week. Through football, Clyde United supports the recovery of individuals with lived experience of mental ill-health and tackles the stigma often associated with the mental ill-health.
Lead Coach Alistair Gray said:-
“I am so proud of the guys, they have worked so hard and deserve their win. They come every week and although they enjoy their football, the main thing, I believe, is they get is a sense of belonging. The support they show one another is fantastic.”
Football Development Officer Kirsty McFarlane added:-
“I am delighted for the team, they thoroughly deserve this. They are a great bunch and I look forward to seeing how they get on in the future.”
