Club Statement: Management Update
The club can confirm that following further reflection and discussion we have agreed with Danny Lennon that his time as Clyde manager will come to an end with immediate effect.
Danny’s tenure at Clyde began in November 2017 when the club was in League 2, and his experience stabilised the team at that time. Whilst at the club, he has guided us through many challenges with dedication and professionalism. And, of course, the highlight on the pitch was securing promotion in 2019.
Chairman Gordon Thomson commented, “Today marks the end of a chapter and it is sad day. Results have belied many performances this season and I appreciate how hard Danny has worked to change that. However, there are times when football doesn’t work out the way we want or expect, and it was felt after five years a change was required. I would like to thank Danny for the memories he has given the club, but also on a personal basis the support he has given me as I learnt the ropes in beginning my time as chairman and in the challenges we have faced together in the past year.”
Danny Lennon added, “It has been an honour to be manager of Clyde FC these past five years. I want to thank all the fans, the staff and the board for their support in my role. Together, we have taken the club from bottom of League Two to a fourth consecutive season in League One. We have created a lot of positive memories along that journey, which I will cherish. I wish the club and everyone associated with it every success in the future.”
All at the club wish Danny the best for the future.
