Euan Buzzing With Great Start
Midfielder Euan Cameron spoke to the official website in the aftermath of Saturday’s cinch League 1 opener against Queen of the South, after scoring the fourth goal in the victory:-
“I’m buzzing with the result, it’s a great way to start the season. I was disappointed not to start but there’s good competition in the team and I just have to try and impress when I get on the pitch and I hope I’ve done that. There’s a lot of good players in midfield but healthy competition is good for the team.
“Everyone is delighted in the dressing room. We knew it was going to be a tough place to come as Queen of the South are one of the favourites to win the league. We couldn’t have made a worse start to the game but the whole team bounced back really well from there and deserved it. We were clinical in front of goal and big Neilly has made a great save from the penalty to keep us in the game at 2-1. We just need to carry our performance into next Saturday now.”
The 19-year-old talked about his goal and also praised The Gypsy Army:-
“Ray’s put a great ball in and I’ve met it well with my head and just aimed for the target. I’ve not scored many headers in my career and that’s definitely the most important one! It was my first professional goal too so I wasn’t really sure what to do after it and just ran straight to the Clyde fans! They gave us fantastic backing throughout the whole game and I’m hoping they can turn out and do the same in Hamilton.”
