NEW SIGNING: Brian McLean
The club is pleased to announce the signing of experienced centre-back Brian McLean.
The defender came through the academy at Rangers and had spells with Motherwell, Falkirk, Dundee United and Ross County in the Scottish top flight. McLean has also played in England with Preston North End, and won silverware overseas in Iceland and Singapore.
The 37-year-old also counts Hibernian and Dumbarton as previous clubs, and spent the last couple of seasons with Greenock Morton.
McLean gained a full international cap with Northern Ireland in 2006.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website after Brian put pen to paper on a one-year deal:-
“We are delighted to have someone of Brian’s quality in the centre of our defence. It is such a key position in the team and an area we have struggled with in our time in League One. His experience will be vital to the team, as well as his character and leadership.
“We have had to be patient with some of our signings this pre-season, due to our signing targets being pursued by other clubs. We are delighted to build a team around Brian and look forward to the season ahead.”
