NEW SIGNING: Ray Grant
The club is pleased to announce the signing of Ray Grant as its first new recruit ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The 25-year-old returns for a second spell with The Bully Wee, having initially joined in February 2018. Grant established himself as a vital part of Danny Lennon’s midfield, playing in 99 out of 101 possible games before leaving Broadwood in the summer of 2020.
The cultured midfielder subsequently joined Alloa Athletic in the Championship to work under his dad Peter, and spent last season with Stirling Albion.
Ray’s next appearance for the club will be his landmark 100th in Clyde colours.
He commented after putting pen to paper on a one-year deal:-
“I’m absolutely delighted to rejoin the club and can’t wait to get back and going again. I really enjoyed my time here before, but I don’t want to be remembered for what I done previously – I want to kick on again and hopefully create better times! I know I need to come in and work hard to deserve my place in the team and that’s exactly what I intend to do. It’s a clean slate for everyone and hopefully we can make it a successful season.”
Danny Lennon also spoke to the official website:-
“Every Clyde fan knows that Raymond is a quality player. Comfortable on the ball, a tremendous football brain and great technical ability. We know his character and what he brings to the group. Not only am I excited to have him back in a Clyde shirt, I believe he is coming back a better player than when he left.”
