Legends Mugs Go On Sale

The club is pleased to announce the launch of the Clyde Legends mug collection, in conjunction with The Terrace.

15 legends have been initially chosen for the range, which will cover the glory days of the 1950s through to the early part of the new millennium. The mugs will be released in five batches of three, with a release each month over the summer and further legends will be added to the range in the future.

Mugs cost £9.99 and are available to purchase through The Club Shop.

The first release consists of legends from the fifties, with all three players being part of both the 1955 and 1958 Scottish Cup winning sides. They made a combined total of 1381 appearances in the white, red and black, and earned 23 Scotland caps between them:-

Harry Haddock – the left-back is one of just four players to make 500+ appearances for The Bully Wee. Captained the team to the Scottish Cup in 1958 and received the ‘Footballer of the Year’ award from leading sportswriter Rex Kingsley the following year.

Tommy Ring – is Clyde’s most capped player, winning a total of 12 caps for Scotland. The left-winger scored the winning goal in the 1955 Scottish Cup Final replay and sits second on the all-time list of Bully Wee goalscorers.

Archie Robertson – scored directly from a late corner to send the 1955 Final to a replay. Is the only Clyde player to appear in a World Cup, in Sweden 1958. Later returned to Shawfield as manager and guided the club to the 1972/73 Second Division title.
