Alloa Athletic 1-0 Clyde
The Bully Wee’s poor run of form continued with a defeat in Alloa this afternoon.
Josh Bradley-Hurst and Aaron Splaine were the latest players to join the injury list, but Clyde were boosted by the return of Barry Cuddihy, Nick McAllister and Jonathan Page.
The Wasps had the first chance of the day inside the second minute through Euan Henderson’s free-kick, but Neil Parry was able to hold it.
Chances were few and far between in the first half but Rob Jones created one for Clyde with a flick-on. Ally Love was through on goal but PJ Morrison beat him to the ball and blocked it.
Alloa’s next real opportunity came in the last minute of the first period when a cut-back from the by-line was met by Henderson, but Page made a vital block to his goalbound shot.
Henderson was prominent in the Wasps’ next attack after the interval. He broke down the left flank and sent a cross into the box which Matthew Elsdon stopped, then made a brave block with his body on the rebound.
Alloa took the lead in the 57th minute mark when Ross MacIver got on the end of a through ball and had plenty of time and space to slot beyond Neil Parry.
Parry made a fantastic double save from MacIver to stop the advantage increasing in the latter stages, whilst Clyde failed to create anything in searching for an equaliser.
